2009 Unified Government budget discussions underway
The 2009 Proposed Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas Budget will be presented to UG Commissioners on July 10. Several calendared events will follow during the month of July allowing residents and interested parties throughout the region to provide input and to monitor the budget process.
This is a great opportunity for RTA members and public transit advocates to voice their support for adequate funding of public transit in Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas and to stress the importance of UG Transit in an effective regional transit system.
Opportunities for public comment include:
- Thursday, July 10, 7:00 p.m. - Budget Public Comment Session
- Thursday, July 31, 5:00 p.m. - Final Budget Public Hearing (budget will be adopted in the commission meeting that follows)
Opportunities to monitor budget discussions include:
- Thursday, July 17, 5:00 p.m. - Budget Workshop (maximum mill levy to be set at this meeting)
- Monday, July 21 - Budget Workshop will follow the Standing Committee meetings which begin at 5:00 p.m.
- Thursday, July 24, 5:00 p.m. - Budget Workshop
- Monday, July 28 - possible Budget Workshop (time to be announced)
